What AI Tax Connect does
AI Tax Connect connects people and businesses in Canada with registered accountants and tax experts. We help you describe what you need, find accountants who fit, and keep every message, document, call and quote between you and your accountant in one private place. We don't do the accounting work ourselves and we don't set its price.
What we collect
- Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or Microsoft.
- What you tell us in the chat and the documents you upload.
- For accountants: the details in the sign-up form and the signed agreement.
- Technical details needed to run the service: your sign-in session, your device's notification subscription, and records of when messages were sent and read.
How we use it
- To run the chat, write a short summary of your request, and match you with accountants.
- To let you know something new is waiting, by a notification on your phone or one email. Notifications and emails never contain the content of your messages.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Who sees what
- Accountants who are asked about your request see a summary without your name, phone number, email, SIN or address. We check every summary for these before it is sent.
- Your name, and the names of anyone else in your request you confirm, go only to the accountant you choose, when you choose them, so they can check for conflicts of interest. This happens even if you then don't go ahead with them.
- Your documents go only to the accountant you choose, after you accept their quote.
- Phone numbers and email addresses are never passed between you and an accountant. Calls happen inside the app and are not recorded.
- We never sell your information.
Services that process data for us
Anthropic (the Claude AI that runs the chat assistant), Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Google and Microsoft (if you sign in with them), Resend (email), Cloudflare (relaying in-app calls) and Stripe (invoices to accountants). Each processes data only to provide its part of the service. Some of these services may process data outside Canada.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and you can turn notifications off at any time in Settings. To make a request, message us from the chat.
Accessibility
We build AI Tax Connect to WCAG 2.2 AA. If anything is hard to use, or you need a document in another format, tell us from the chat and we will help and fix it.
